Sanyo
was a Japanese major electronics company and formerly a member of the Fortune Global 500 whose headquarters was located in Moriguchi, Osaka prefecture, Japan. Sanyo had over 230 subsidiaries and affiliates.〔
On December 21, 2009, Panasonic completed a 400 billion yen ($4.5 billion) acquisition of a 50.2% stake in Sanyo, making Sanyo a subsidiary of Panasonic.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd. - Panasonic )〕 In July 2010, Panasonic announced that it would acquire the remaining shares of Sanyo.

Sanyo utilizes an extensive socialization process for new employees, so that they will be acclimatized to Sanyo's corporate culture.〔J. Impoco, "Basic Training, Sanyo Style".
